Ankle-shaped bronze weight with engraved inscription “ΔΙΟΣ” (for Zeus)

Bronze weight in the shape of an “ankle”, with the inscription “ΔΙΟΣ”, leftwards.

Similar weights were found in various parts of Altis. Most of them bear the inscription “ΔΙΟΣ”; which indicates that, in addition to their commercial use for weighing products, they were votive offerings to Zeus.
